Privacy policy

What information Penrift collects, how it is used and the choices you have. The short version is that we collect very little.

This policy explains how Penrift ("we", "us") handles information when you use this website. We designed the site to collect as little data as possible.

Information we collect

Information you give us. If you subscribe to our newsletter or send a message through the contact form, we receive the details you submit: your email address, and for the contact form your name, topic and message. We use this information only to respond to you or to send the newsletter you asked for.

Information collected automatically. Our hosting provider may keep standard server logs (for example IP address, browser type and pages requested) for security and reliability. We do not set advertising or tracking cookies. If we enable analytics, we use a privacy-friendly, cookie-free service that does not track individuals across websites.

Fonts. The site loads typefaces from Google Fonts. When your browser requests them, Google receives your IP address and browser details, subject to Google's privacy policy.

How we use information

  • To answer your questions and requests.
  • To send the newsletter, if you subscribed. Every email includes an unsubscribe link.
  • To keep the site secure and understand, in aggregate, which content is useful.

We do not sell your personal information.

Sharing

We share information only with service providers that help us run the site (such as hosting, form processing and email delivery), and only as needed for them to perform their services. We may also disclose information if required by law.

Retention

We keep messages for as long as needed to respond and to keep a record of corrections. Newsletter addresses are kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, delete or export your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us and we will respond within a reasonable time.

Children

Penrift is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their personal information.

Our articles link to other websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of the page.
